In this stylish home in Laren, an existing base was given a second life with a new solid walnut top. The residents chose the colour warm walnut lacquer, a finish that strikes just the right note: elegant, rich, and natural. An existing frame, a new walnut top

The client approached us with an existing metal frame that was still in perfect condition. Instead of having something new made, we decided to place a custom-made walnut top on it. This way, we combined the best of two worlds: sustainable reuse and artisanal renewal.

Our team in Utrecht crafted the top from carefully selected American walnut. Each plank is hand-sorted by grain and colour, ensuring that the whole forms a calm, warm entity. The wood is then finished in the colour warm walnut lacquer, which deepens and enlivens the grain without losing its natural feel.
