European Oak

European oak forms the basis of many DroomHout furniture pieces. It is strong, durable, and timeless, with a warm appearance that effortlessly fits various interior styles. From a modern loft to a characteristic townhouse. It is no coincidence that this is the most popular material for our solid wooden dining tables.

What makes European oak so special is its fine grain structure and subtle pattern. The wood is alive yet balanced. It subtly catches light and develops a richer character over the years. Traces of use enhance its story rather than detracting from it.

At DroomHout, we exclusively work with carefully selected, high-quality European oak. Each tabletop is meticulously constructed and hand-finished in our Utrecht workshop. Finishes such as oil, lacquer, or smoking treatment are chosen not only for their color but also for their durability and feel.

European oak is also ideally suited for custom-made tables. The wood is stable, versatile, and applicable in almost any shape, including Danish oval tables. The result is a table that feels right today and will still feel natural twenty years from now. Get inspired in our showroom.
